Parents and Guardians

As a member of British Judo, your child receives the benefit of Personal Accident and Sport, Recreation and Leisure Liability insurance to protect them whilst participating in our sport.

What is Personal Accident cover?

Personal Accident insurance provides payments if your child is injured whilst taking part in a recognised BJA activity anywhere in the world.

The cover is 'no fault' which means they will receive the appropriate payment regardless of the cause of the accident.

Read the policy summary to find out more about the range of benefits available.

What is Sport, Recreation and Leisure Liability insurance?

The liability policy provides cover on a worldwide basis up to a maximum of £20m and will cover the cost of defending a claim if your child is responsible for loss, damage or injury to someone else or their property whilst engaging in BJA authorised/recognised activities.

Please note that if your child is travelling abroad, such as on a club trip, separate travel insurance that covers competitive judo as an activity must be arranged to cover costs such as medical expenses, repatriations costs or lost luggage etc.  Travel insurance for sports specific activities can be found here.

Safeguarding of children is of the utmost importance to BJA. To ensure the safest sporting environment all BJA members and clubs commit to the BJA SAFE LANDINGS
